With the weather cooling down, the farmers market at located in City North is likely to be well received by residents and visitors alike. Kicking off this Sunday, October 20, 2013, this theme of “ A Wild West Market on High Street combines old west nostalgia with present day goods. Six Gun Entertainment will be featured for family friendly depictions of old west gun battles, including a gunfight at noon. These presentations will be joined by Wild at Heart Owls, a local non-profit animal rescue organization. The opportunity to get up close and personal with birds of prey is one to engage the entire family.
Some of the goods available for visitors to purchase include local, fresh organic fruits and vegetables. Those looking for products raised and represented by Arizona farmers should look no further. The chance to sample local fares made in Arizona is intermingled with tree lined streets perfect for exploring different vendors. Organic fruits and vegetables along with locally baked artisan bread, olive oils and Arizona wines are some of the delicious products being offered this year. Jewelry and other goods offered by artisans local to the valley are two other types of items available at this market on High Street. Boys and Girls Club of Scottsdale will be giving away free cowboy hats to the first 300 children who make a donation to the Boys and Girls Club the first Farmers Market in the fall. Additionally, free pony rides with donations will be available as well.
